For me, a better employee experience is personal.

When I was growing up, my Dad worked on the production line at a school bus factory. He spent 37 years making school buses. And making a difference.

He actually cared about his job, his company and the people he worked with. He cared about the kids who'd be riding those buses. And he cared about his employees, not just their livelihoods but their lives. He did all that because he stood for something. For decency. For common sense. For making things better. And for doing the right thing.

That made quite an impression on me.

Because of him, for over 35 years I've worked in internal comms and workplace culture to help companies understand and unlock the tremendous business value that comes from informing, involving and inspiring their employees.

That’s not just the right thing to do for employees. It’s the best thing to do for the business, its customers and its stakeholders.

Over my career, I’ve worked with hundreds of companies to help them reimagine their relationships with hundreds of thousands of employees, guiding them to strengthen their workplace to be more successful in the marketplace.

By being simple, honest and real.

Some might call that audacity. I call it giving a damn.

Because my work is personal to me. It’s more than what I do.

Thanks to my Dad, it’s who I am.

Here are some of the companies I’ve worked with and for...

…and their experience working with me.

  • Jason is the most authentic, humble and genuine leader I've ever encountered in a professional setting. To the point where, when we first met, I thought he was bullshitting me with his complete lack of bullshit! His genuine care for his work, team, clients and just people in general is so evident.

  • Some of the ideas in your audit were already things we had in the works and it gave us the needed proof to keep them going. But, others were great thought starters and pushed us in a new direction. For example, your idea to streamline our content, to have more push-less pull, sparked a great conversation about overhauling the way we’re doing storytelling and delivering that content. We created a new direction that we’ll launch at the end of this year. We presented it to our CMO yesterday and she loved it! She said it was transformational and the biggest improvement to internal comms since she’s been in her role. So thank you!

  • I’ve known Jason for more than 20 years and have hired him multiple times at different organizations. A true change-agent, he’ll help you transform your culture and get to that ‘sweet spot’ where your employees are rallied around what your company is trying to accomplish.

    — Amy, Internal and HR Communications Leader

  • Cannot tell you how many folks I've told about Ridin' Shotgun. Truly a favorite weekly listen. And whenever someone asks me an opinion at work, I just say, "Make the hole bigger" and walk out of the room. :)
